DescriptionThis lively, built-up area is becoming very popular with people in Munich. The sometimes picturesque streets with beautiful pre-war buildings, lots of small shops and cafes give Isarvorstadt a special flair. The areas around Gärtnerplatz, Glockenbach and on the banks of the river Isar are especially nice areas to live in. In the west of Isarvorstadt are several university hospitals as well as large residential buildings. In the south is the "Schlachthof", a trendy area, and in the east the "Isarauen" the banks of the river Isar with the Museum Island and the striking buildings housing the European Patent Office.
